Peace, security and stability are critical pre conditions to regional development and stability. Here in Bangladesh and South Asia these issues are more pronounced as we go through a process of rapid transition. The regions of South and South East Asia are witnessing phenomenal steps in its stride towards development, which also increases its vulnerability. As the world changes, Non Traditional security challenges including Human Security are becoming more significant as each day passes. In this environment a comprehensive study and understanding of the key issues of peace and security is of crucial importance to policy makers, researchers and practitioners. Particularly questions of Human Security are of special concern, because the region is also home to one fourth of the world’s humanity. Here at BIPSS we fill in this critical void where the best minds speak from the world of academics, research community, practitioners and policy makers. Our International partners and linkages also provide valuable fresh input into the process.
