BIPSS organized a two day International Conference on the Management of Complex Emergency in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, Dhaka on December 13-14, 2010. The objective of the conference was to promote a better understanding of how to mitigate and respond to modern day complex emergencies. The conference was the first of its nature in Bangladesh and attended by the subject based experts and practitioners from many countries including Bangladesh,India, Pakistan,China, Sri Lanka,Nepal, Afghanistan and others. The delegations comprised of representatives from the government agencies, armed forces, academics, NGOs, media and international organizations.BIPSS also welcome a number of international observers/delegates who were interested to participate in the conference.
