
United Nations Security Council, in a presidential statement declared in its meeting on Climate Change, recognized that possible adverse effects of climate change may, in the long run, aggravate certain existing threats to international peace and security. In addition, Secretary-General of UN, Ban Ki-moon declares Climate change as a real threat to international peace and security. However, BIPSS has been working consistently for the last few years to map out the major security concerns of climate change in different regions of the world with considerable emphasis on climate security of South Asia and Bangladesh.
