International Workshop on Countering The Financing of Terrorism
The International Workshop on Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), organized by Bangladesh Centre for Terrorism Research (BCTR), a specialized organ of Bangladesh Institute of Peace and security Studies (BIPSS), in collaboration with International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR), Singapore and WORLD-CHECK, London, was held at Dhaka. The conference was hosted by National University of Singapore (NUS), in association with Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS), Australian National University (ANU), Griffith University and International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU).

President of BIPSS, Major General ANM Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc (Retd.) who is a member of the Board of Governors (BOG) of the Council for Asian Terrorism Research (CATR) attended the CATR-Board of Governors meeting in Sydney, Australia. The major themes and focus of the conference were "The Landscape of Terrorism after Iraq, 2013" and "The Emerging Threat of Cyber Terrorism" followed by country presentations from the delegates. Active roundtable discussions took place on these issues and the summery of the discussions has come out in the conference declaration

Muniruzzaman, President Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) spoke at the Heritage Foundation, Washington D.C. on current and emerging security issues of Bangladesh.The conference entitled 'Bangladesh: Democracy at Crossroads' held on September 28, 2007, was largely attended by policy planners in Washington, D.C. based think tanks, academics, Bangladeshi community and Bangladesh Embassy in Washington. The issue of Bangladesh drew keen interest from the floor.
