Bangladesh institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) organised a roundtable on Role of NATO in The New Security Order” on 12 May 2010 at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel outlining the present and possible role of NATO in the new security order.

H.E Anders Christian Sjaastad, former defence minister of Norway presented the key note paper.

As the security architecture is changing, new security concept not only deals with states but also with non state actors. In terms of new power balance, new security issues like terrorism, cyber terrorism piracy, environmental security, and refugee issue were covered in the new security order.

President BIPSS, Major General ANM Muniruzzaman (Retd.) and other experts, think tank, military personnel, diplomats, academia, journalists, and cross–section of intelligence participated in the inter-creative round-table. They shared their views and observed the NATO should review of policy, as peace can not be achieved through violence rather through cooperation.
